New large-format ceiling systems brings calm and evenness on the work floor With the introduction of TechStyle Lay On glass fibre panels - its new large-format ceiling system - Hunter Douglas Architectural Projects is responding to the demand for large surface-area ceilings offering excellent acoustical performance. The maximum dimension per panel is 1200 x 2400 mm so that the ceilings create a homogenous sense of aesthetics in the work area. This excellent example of contemporary ceiling architecture not only enhances the comfort of its occupants, but also considerably increases the feeling of space. The minimum presence of grids results in an even surface, especially when compared with the current norm. This new product line from Hunter Douglas offers added value by upgrading the aspects of function and decorative appeal of currently undervalued ceilings. In functional terms, the acoustical qualities are particularly important and this is where TechStyle sets a completely new standard. The hollow structure of the panels is very effective in absorbing the sounds. This has an unmistakably positive impact on the comfort in the workplace and encourages productivity. Another advantage is the limited light absorption of the white surface, which reduces the need for additional lighting. These intrinsic product qualities of the new ceiling system fit in seamlessly with Hunter Douglas Architectural Projects' vision of sustainable, low energy consumption and productive office areas: ‘Innovative products make innovative projects'. Lightweight and fire-resistantThe new ceiling system, weighing just 1.4 kilos per square metre is also considerably lighter than standard ceiling systems. Because there is a minimum presence of grids and because the panels are large installation of these ceilings is relatively rapid. The system is Class B s2 d0 (EC label) certified fire-resistant thus ensuring that the system can be used in a broad range of applications. Thanks to the homogenous composition of the glass fibre panels, waste produced during the production process is restricted to a minimum. Hunter Douglas guarantees the durability of the one hundred percent formaldehyde-free ceiling system that requires no maintenance when used under normal circumstances (offices, reception areas or showrooms).
