Terram's Erocell, the cellular confinement system for stabilising slopes, can now be made available in depths up to 300mm fordifficult terrain. The cellular product has proved immensely popular both in the construction industry and amongst landscapers for its ability to prevent soil erosion by wind and rain on steep slopes, river banks, ditches, spillways and other exposed areas. As a lightweight textile material, Erocell is supplied flat in panel form, which is expanded on site to create the honeycomb structure for in-filling. This can be with seeded topsoil for less exposed areas, and can include aggregate and small shrubs to afford greater erosion protection, all giving a natural appearance in the local environment. The honeycomb style cellular system also allows the free movement of water and nutrients for a healthy soil environment. Erocell can be used on slopes with inclines of up to 45° and is also suitable for use in tree root protection, complying with BS5837, 2005. Made in a charcoal grey to harmonise with the colour of topsoil, Erocell 25/10 has a 250mm nominal diameter and Erocell 35/10 has a 350mm nominal diameter. Both versions are available in either 100mm or 150mm depths, and now 200mm, 250mm or 300mm cell depths can be manufactured to customer specification, where required. Unlike rigid plastic cellular structures, Erocell packs flat for easier transport to site and is made from a fully porous material which whilst retaining in-fill materials of soil and aggregate, allows effective drainage between cells. Erocell can now be ordered online through www.terramdirect.com as well as via Terram's extensive network of distributors across the UK.
