The Highways Agency [on trunk roads] or local Highways Authorities are empowered to decide whether a road needs traffic calming, and if so, which measures are most appropriate. The specific traffic problem will dictate the location, type and size of the scheme. The benefits of using Bollards International's range of polymer-based bollards instead of traditional cast iron products are now being recognised by a growing number of local authorities which are instituting traffic calming measures in their area.
