Brightline's newest offering, the R-View, fulfills a longstanding industry need for a cost-effective, energy-efficient, portable videoconference fixture that delivers high-end aesthetics, broadcast-quality performance, and unprecedented user comfort in an elegant, out-of-the-box format. Capable of mounting to the wall, on a stand, or on a VC cart, the versatile R-View measures approximately 8-in-high by 22-in-wide by 5-in-deep and features a sleek, streamlined look with a distinctive rolled configuration. The fixture body is fabricated entirely of aluminum, which, compared with the steel construction of most other fixtures, is much lighter, offers better fatigue properties, and dissipates the minimal heat produced more effectively. Units are powder coated in standard black or a wide choice of optional colors. With the R-View, conference participants are not looking directly at the two 55-W fluorescent lamps; rather, the proprietary shell and reflector design result in the light being bent or diffused to the face of the fixture for a soft, glare-free, “indirect” effect that is extremely comfortable to the eye. In addition, nine specially designed reflector blades reduce optical flare to the sides of the fixture by more than half without diminishing overall intensity. Operating the R-View is quick and simple: the user merely plugs the light into an outlet and turns a bottom-mounted rotary potentiometer to adjust the dimming up or down to the desired level. Other dimming options are available upon request. As with all Brightline products, the R-View turns out almost no heat, consumes up to 90% less electricity than would a comparable incandescent fixture, offers lamp life in excess of 8,000 hours, and produces a spectral emission calibrated to harmonize with the latest HD cameras for true color reproduction. For A/V integrators, consultants, and end users alike, the R-View takes both the guesswork and the “fear factor” out of videoconference lighting specification.
