Silvadec of France, a specialist in fencing and decking, has launched its range of Forexia® wood composite boards in the UK. The fencing range won the New Product Trophy at the Salon de la Piscine, the European leading trade show for the swimming-pool sector, which was held in France at the end of 2008.Silvadec's Forexia® wood composite boards include ranges for both decking and fencing. No treatment products are required for the maintenance of the boards, which just need to be washed with water once a year. The boards are available in a wide range of colours and finishes. Forexia® wood composite is made from a two-thirds wood and only one-third polymer mix, which combines the rigidity and appearance of wood with the ease of maintenance of polymer. Thus, the boards have the feel of natural wood and do not look like plastic at all. It is guaranteed against termite and fungus attacks for 25 years and is naturally resistant to other biological and atmospheric factors, including humidity. Forexia® wood composite screens for fencing are supplied with thermo-lacquered aluminium posts. The screens resist strong winds and can be adapted to suit different ground types. The screens and posts come in a range of heights and colours. By using recycled sawdust and wood shavings from European sawmills as raw material, Silvadec puts sustainable development at the heart of its manufacturing. As a result, and despite the significant production volumes used, no trees are cut down solely to supply the company. Moreover, by offering products that are similar to exotic woods, Silvadec helps to reduce the large-scale deforestation that is required for the supply of such woods. Silvadec's production system generates no industrial waste, as all waste is reused in production. Silvadec also aims to recycle all of its products at the end of their life, as far as it is technically possible.About SilvadecSilvadec, which is headquartered in Brittany (in France), was created in 2001. It manufactures and markets wood composite boards under the North American Strandex licence. For further information, please go to: www.silvadec.com b.clausel@silvadec.com
