lamps scudo 75cm diameter in special price New open store in los angeles Amsterdam paris SydneyIl Milione is a handmade lamps atelier in the historic centre of Venice: it is located in Campo Santa Marina, between the famous ancient Campiello del Milion e Calle della Seda (Silk), where Marco Polo lived in the XIIIth century.This great venetian traveler arrived to the Gran Mogol Court, following the famous silk routes, so well described in the well known book Il MILIONE.Daniele ZAMPEDRI is the experienced and skilled craftsman who brought back to life an ancient art, today disappearing, throughout handmade objects which can still astonish us with their preciousness and old stile particulars.Metal, fabrics and glass are the main elements of Fortuny style lamps, which are still handmade by Daniele Zampedri.In these particular lamps we can find an endless evolution of shapes and decorations: different stiles so rich in the venetian history of art, here find their masterpiece. The Venetians used this elements with such industry and gusto till today and Mariano Fortuny himself, at the beginning of last century, created the famous silk lamps deriving inspiration from oriental cultures; we can still see them inside the Fortuny Museum in Venice.The main aim of this art is to create, through the mystic light of these silk lamps, a warming and enigmatic atmosphere, capable to cope with every stile and interior design.
