In Burma, dark red umbrellas and parasols are traditionally dedicated to the monks, protecting them from sunshine and rain. They will provide you shadow and will resist also to rain. Other coloured patterns, with traditional Burmese decoration are used for civil ceremonies. Whatever parasols and umbrellas are dark red or decorated, they can be used indoor or outdoor. In case of outdoor use, to keep the cotton soft, clean and waterproof, maintenance will be done with " odourless petrol. "
