The "Wörthersee" stadium was constructed by NCA Container- und Anlagenbau GmbH from Austria using GRAITEC Advance Steel. Three games of the football Euro Cup 2008 will take place in the new "Wörthersee" stadium in Klagenfurt, Austria. The old stadium was demolished in November 2005 and the reconstruction started in January 2006. The Euro Cup stadium was finished in September 2007 and has a capacity of 35000 seats. After the Euro Cup it will be reduced to 12500 seats.The stadium consists of approximately 4000 tons of steel. NCA Container- und Anlagenbau GmbH was responsible for the construction of the steel elements. Because of its capability of 3D modeling, Advance Steel was an excellent tool for this project. If the 2D function had been used for creating the steel construction, the arrangement of the 3D cuts of the roof would have been very time-consuming. By using the 3D planning function these cuts were done with a minimized effort. Also, when creating the normal views on the end plates, the detailers of NCA Container- und Anlagenbau GmbH benefited from GRAITEC Advance in an enormous way. The drawings were created automatically, so that they could be passed on to fabrication very quickly at a rate of 1:1. As a result the detailers saved a lot of time.Mr Schrammel, department manager of Steel at NCA Container- und Anlagenbau GmbH, underlines some more advantages of GRAITEC Advance Steel: "Advance uses the data from the 3D model and therefore speeds up the creation of all documents by having a permanent conformity of model and drawings. Because of the automatic drawing creation and because of the collisions control that is carried out regularly, the occurrence of errors could be minimized. This function saved us a lot of time. Last but not least we were also convinced by the good price-performance ratio of the software".To learn how to use GRAITEC Advance Steel in a very short time, the construction engineers of NCA Container- und Anlagenbau GmbH took part in a seminar. GRAITEC offers seminars and individual support for all GRAITEC Advance Software solutions. As a result, customers are able to work productively with Advance after a short time.
