Landscape Structures Inc. has introduced the Weevos™ playsystem, a new gyroscopic environment for kids ages 2 to 5. Weevos is the perfect complement to the Evos™ playsystem, which changed the shape of play for kids ages 5 to 12+ in 2007.The sweeping arched design and new play components of Weevos provide a unique destination that appeals to toddlers and preschoolers. The playsystem is full of unscripted play events, encouraging imaginations along with physical activity. And every inch of these spherical shapes is part of the three-dimensional play experience, offering endless opportunities for inventive fun.“There are lots of hands on opportunities with Weevos,” said Wanda Burdick, teacher at KinderCare Learning Centers in Mesa, Ariz. “The kids get on the Weevos playsystem and climb and slide, and they just love it. The equipment is very age appropriate; it encourages them to learn new skills like balance and coordination. The kids are starting slow, but quickly gaining confidence.”The Weevos playsystem is designed especially to promote 2- to 5-year-old growth and development in five key areas: physical, cognitive, sensory/motor, emotional/social and language. Seven all-new components let 2- to 5-year-olds hop up and down on the Wee Pod™ climber, wiggle on the Boppity Bridge™, twirl and whirl on the Twirly Bar, balance on the Giggle Jiggler™, and safely climb up and coast down the Cozy Coaster™ slide. Best of all, clear sight lines let supervisors keep their eyes on all the action! Weevos challenges are designed to grow with kids, making it easy for them to graduate to Evos, where kids 5 to 12+ can continue to flex their problem-solving skills along with their muscles.In addition to the fun and unique designs of the Weevos and Evos playsystems, the pair are earth-friendly additions to the playground. These spherical playsystems were designed to minimize their manufacturing impact on the environment—Weevos has a 17 percent smaller carbon footprint than traditional playstructures, and Evos has a 30 percent smaller footprint.
