LAMP LIGHTING is providing the lighting for the exhibition of works by the renowned Japanese architect Toyo Ito in Barcelona organised by the Casa Asia and by Toyo Ito Arquitectos Asociados in Spain. The “Toyo Ito (2001-2009)” exhibition, which will be open to the public until the end of May, demonstrates some of the ideas the Japanese architect is putting into practice via the conceptual exercise of integrating man and architecture as parts of a whole identified with nature. That is how Toyo Ito would like us to view the other projects he has completed to date. These include the enlargement of Fira de Barcelona's Gran Via convention centre, which includes the new entrance hall, pavilions 1, 5, 7 and 8, the walkway that covers and connects all the buildings in the complex, the auditorium and the Porta Fira Towers in Plaza Europa. Toyo Ito's studio brought in LAMP to light Pavilion 8, a rectangular building on two floors designed to provide modular exhibition space and a convention hall on the ground floor and an exhibition hall on the upper floor. LAMP LIGHTING, a technical lighting company with expertise in lighting projects and the ability to take part in any lighting or architectural process, has provided technical advice to the Toyo Ito Arquitectos Asociados studio in Spain to establish the best lighting solution for the “Toyo Ito 2001-2009” exhibition. In this case, LAMP has used the white Vissio Projector on a rail with 100W QR-111 incandescent halogen lamps and various irradiation angles (8º, 24º and 45º) to adjust the light beam to the size of the object and the intended emphasis, overall creating an atmosphere of contrasts, to show the exhibited works in their best light.
