To mark the 23rd edition of Abitare il Tempo, L'INVISIBILE by Portarredo participated as sponsor of the Interior Architecture exhibition with The Face House project of architect Mr. Roberto Semprini. “A house with a peaceful face, a house without limits, a house with a fluid plan where new ideas can be circulated: this is the concept of The Face House, a concept in the form of haiku, a poetic work of only three verses...poetry of concentration! And this is the plan of the house, extremely concentrated in synthesis. The end result can be found in the reduction of all the facial lines in a few strokes, those of the face, as Mondrian taught us! A house without closed spaces but a continuous flow of use types, emotions, functions. A utopian house for a future already at the door as Architect Mr. Roberto Semprini puts it. Roberto Semprini This is the concept of The Face House, the project signed by Architect Mr. Roberto Semprini, one of the 12 protagonist set-ups of Interior Architecture, the cultural exhibition which Abitare il Tempo organises since the twentieth edition of 2005, and which this year, has proposed a simulation of contemporary living ramified in 12 visions by outstanding authors on the Italian and International project scene such as Alessandro Mendini, Paola Navone and Marco Viola, as well as Roberto Semprini. The twelve “houses” were considered as true and proper trend leading laboratories to present the solutions of companies active in research, experimenting innovative materials and coverings. They included L'INVISIBILE by Portarredo, a brand which has always been close to the theme of architecture, deeply attentive to the needs of designers, and which has participated as sponsor of The Face House set-up, obtaining great success and appreciation from the many who visited the exhibition. For The Face House, Architect Semprini chose the new Vertical Pivot Line 10, a Hinged Door and two Special Locks. The vertical pivot was personalised by a special wall paper by Effeitalia; the hinged door was proposed with a finish in white distemper whereas, for the Special Locks, an exclusive cover with ceramics hand made by Paola Orsoni was selected. An elegant refined project which best emphasizes the characteristics and plus points of the L'INVISIBILE products: a patented system of totally wall-line doors, which eliminates door posts, door frames or jambs, creating absolute continuity between door and wall. “Tailor made” solutions created to make personalised design configurations, declined in an infinite series of dimensions, shapes, coverings and functions to open, close, and conceal, ramified in the versions, with Hinge, Vertical Pivot, Special closures and in the more recent proposals: Concealed Sliding System and Vertical Pivot LINE 10. The L'INVISIBILE – which uses movements with hidden pivots or hinges – contains latest generation technology completely at the service of designers because it integrates perfectly in the house's architecture and is able to satisfy every design requirement, furnishing idea or solutions for interiors, thanks also to the possibility of selecting any type of covering, decoration and colour, to fit in with the wall, disappearing from sight, or to visibly detach from it like a painting with a trompe l'oeil effect. Double-face doors can also be created, equipped with bookcases and container furniture items. And that's not all, the perfect flatness between door and wall enables absolute continuity of decorations and applications to personalise L'INVISIBILE products. Technical description of L'INVISIBILE products selected for THE FACE HOUSE project: L'INVISIBILE with Vertical Pivot LINE 10 (NEW) the evolution of the Vertical Pivot door, with which it shares the hidden pivot system which, according to positioning, enable the door to open by turning on itself with different degrees of opening. L'INVISIBILE with Vertical Pivot LINE 10 is a great innovation in the field of doors: thanks to a panel wit thickness of 10 cm –the same as that of the wall - is the first door flat on both sides. An excellent result which reduces the visibility of the door, producing a very exciting movement effect. It can be made in all dimensions and with all coverings so that it adapts to all rooms, and becomes perfectly invisible thanks to complete flatness between door and wall. It consists of a passivated frame in extruded aluminium – enabling anchorage to all types of walls without the risks of cracks - a panel in rough wood and hidden rotating pivots. It offers the possibility to panel walls with innovative high-tech materials. For maximum personalisation, various types of locks are available. Thanks to the “tailor made” production, it is perfect in both residential and contract spheres. Ideal for internal doors, wardrobe booths, maxi panels, fitted panels, and large doors (up to 1200x3000 mm). L'INVISIBILE Hinged Door The L'invisibile door completely flush with the wall, offering a reinterpretation of the traditional hinged opening, without the use of door frames or jambs and with hidden hinges. It can be painted in the same finish as the walls and thus disappear in the overall view, becoming part of the idea, or it can become context free, by covering it with different materials and colours. Without limiting its shape and dimensions, L'INVISIBILE Hinged Door consists of a Frame Nucleus in passivated extruded aluminium – enabling anchorage to all types of walls without cracking risks – and of a hammered panel composed of perimetral hardwood and faces in smoothed MDF, with total thickness of 50 mm, including rubber seals. For maximum personalisation, various types of locks are available. L'INVISIBILE Hinged Door can be made in standard dimensions with widths of 600, 700, 800 and 900, and heights of 2000 to 2100 mm. Non standard dimensions are available in all width sizes from 500 to 1100 mm and in all heights sizes from 1500 to 3000 mm. L'INVISIBILE Special Closures The system of flush-to-the-wall room-dividing panels, created to satisfy differing needs to contain and close off areas. This is the ideal way of creating store rooms and wardrobe space by closing off recesses and dead zones, hiding control panels and apparatus relating to electrical and computer installations. Without limiting shapes or dimensions, it consists of a Nucleus Frame in passivated extruded aluminium – enabling anchorage to all types of wall without cracking risks – and of an 19 m thick MDF panel type “BH”, covered with decorative 7010 (white) material. Can be painted with enamels and water based paints, can be covered with almost any material, including ceramic or mirrors. It may come with various kinds of lock. L'INVISIBILE Special Closures can be tailor-made in all dimensions from 300 mm to 1000 mm for width and from 300 to 2700 for height.
