According to the Hearth Patio and Barbeque Association there are 59 million grills in the United States. Of those grills, the average BTU usage is 60,000 an hour. If consumers grill twice a week, that's a whopping annual BTU consumption of 6,240,000 over an entire year. That translates to just over one barrel of crude oil per household, just to use their grill. Now consumers who are environmentally conscious can be green grillers with Cook Number Grills. The gas grills consume half as much energy as the average gas grill. Combining electronics with convection technology and patented single-burner efficiency, Fire Stone's new grills make 30,000 BTU's cook like 60,000. Fire Stone's electric Cook Number Grill has a highly-efficient design that costs only 10-15 cents per hour to operate, which is less than 10% of the energy required for 60,000 BTU grill. “Gas grills have become synonymous with multiple burners and increasingly higher gas consumption,” says Dan Shimek, Fire Stone owner and president. “With today's energy concerns, finding a way to conserve carbon footprints while grilling must not be overlooked." Fire Stone's Cook Number Grills are designed with 10 precise settings that take the guesswork out of grilling. The system is designed to be foolproof and ensure safety without the risk of overcooking food. Simply set the internal temperature, insert the food temperature sensor and shut the hood. The grill signals when the food is done with a visual and audible alert. Cook Number Grills are available in a variety of models and features and retail from $379 to $2,099 (USD).
