Perfect couples always have something in common: this was the slogan that underlined a joint advertising campaign between Whirlpool and Elmar a few years ago. Today it is all the rage again at the “fuori Salone” Interni Design Energies event where, in the gardens of the University of Milan, Whirlpool and Elmar present Green Living. A concept created by Ludovica + Roberto Palomba that declines a new kitchen dimension in which technology and ecology meet and blend in a convivial and wellness oriented setting. The materials remind one of the pureness of nature, while technological surfaces communicate reliability and safety: al this is the result of common research in which space invents a new path to connect indoors and outdoors, man-made and natural environments. Whirlpool has been involved in the development of innovative products aimed at protecting our planet's resources for more than 30 years; Elmar, starting from the requirements of the users, creates innovative solutions that combine quality, ergonomics and functionality. A wall covered with plants and spices, which does not separate but allows one to see through it, visually synthesises the concept that puts a large wooden table at its centre which, thanks to the food ritual, becomes a symbol of unity and conviviality that has been typical of the kitchens of all time. The Whirlpool “sixth sense” appliances have an intelligent technology that really minimises the consumption of water, energy and time while offering excellent performances. On the other hand, Elmar's research has been concentrated on the application of high temperature treated wood to the kitchen. Thanks to its collaboration with the Dall'Agnello company, it has been possible to use natural wood treated at a high temperature to make it water-repellent and increase its durability and stability.
