Room occupancy sensors switch the light on and off by means of a motion detection transceiver installed in the room. Sarlam has developed a special room occupancy sensor for use with bulkhead lights. Hyper Frequency motion sensing system Sarlam offers a room occupancy sensing system that uses a totally invisible module: the sensor is fitted inside the bulkhead light, completely hidden from direct view. The light's mechanical properties (IK 04 to IK 10, depending on the ranges) and leakproof properties (IP 55) are unaffected. Three functions: sensitivity, brightness, time delay Each feature represents a benefit for managers or property developers who are worried about controlling the costs of power consumption: - The Hyper Frequency motion sensor uses a frequency transmission to detect the presence of a person nearby. The signal is then sent to the light fitting, which lights up immediately if a person is detected. The detection angle is large enough to prevent the light switching off if the person has left the field of detection but is still in the room. - The sensor's dwell time, i.e. the amount of time that the light remains on when the person has left the field of detection, is set by the property developer or the user. - The cell automatically senses the light intensity level and switches on the light to keep the illumination level constant (e.g. in passageways). An efficient solution for effective lighting control The main benefit of the sensor is that light is turned off where it would usually be left on. It is a way of ensuring that the light is switched off in rooms overnight and of managing intermittent lighting during the day. All fluorescent and incandescent lights can operate with room occupancy sensors. Fluorescent lights must run on a hot cathode electronic ballast.
