Leading European carpet manufacturer DESSO is introducing two new products in its ‘Pure Lines Additions' collection. The latest commercial carpet tiles – ‘Pure' and ‘Tree' – have been designed in line with the company's acclaimed Carpetecture® concept, which draws on contemporary architecture and design to create flooring that complements modern interiors. Inspired by the strata and parallel forms of a building, Pure Lines brings the rhythms of brickwork patterns, vertical columns and horizontal floors into play. Taking the concept to another level, the collection also employs familiar structures in nature that influence building design, from fields of corn to forests of trees. The ‘Pure' and ‘Tree' tiles embody this design principle, drawing on the tactile qualities of building materials such as wood and stone, and using a natural colour palette. Information explaining how and why the designs have been created is carefully documented, demonstrating a new direction in the use of carpet as a design tool and assisting architects to make flooring choices that complement buildings and public spaces.
