Airbus chooses Champion Door for partnership

Champion Door has been chosen to provide fold-up door systems for the new factories of the aircraft manufacturer Airbus in Germany, France and Spain. The partnership agreement, to manufacture doors for seven factories producing the new Airbus A350 aircraft model, is valued at several million euros. The Master Agreement has been made between Champion Door and EADS (European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company N.V.), a world-wide conglomerate active in aeronautics and the defence industry. Champion Door's initial three-year partnership agreement includes an option for three more years and opens the gate for co-operation with other companies owned by EADS. The surface area of the doors manufactured for Airbus factories often exceeds several hundred square metres. The doors must comply with the highest quality standards and strictest safety regulations. At present, Champion Door, after having established a foothold in the European aeronautics construction market, is also participating in a tender for providing doors for aircraft hangars at Paris airports. Champion Door has convinced the aircraft manufacturers of its technological know-how, demonstrated by excellent thermal insulation and wind resistance test results. The company has also developed its own production management system, appreciated by the purchasers, which keeps the entire production line and costs under control. Champion Door factories are located in Nivala, Finland, with research, development and production taking place under one roof. The main products of the company are fold-up doors and walls for airports, port facilities, industrial buildings, power plants and agriculture. Most of the company's business volume originates from export, mainly to other European countries, Russia and Central Asia.
